Our Team

I offer Yoga Workshops and Retreats with my wife Francesca, with whom I have created Pure Yoga Cheshire Studios in Macclesfield. Here’s more information about her.

Francesca Giusti

I was born and raised in Italy. I moved to London in my early twenties and then lived in several countries – including Egypt and Canary Islands – before moving to Cheshire (England) in May 2012. I trained as a Yoga teacher in 2004 at the Yoga Arts School in Byron Bay, Australia after practising Yoga in the Ashtanga Mysore style for several years. I have been teaching Yoga since 2005 first in Italy, then Ireland (where I lived for 12 years).

I completed my second teacher training in Ireland in 2007 with Vinyasa Flow Yoga – David Curtis from Dublin, who is a direct student of Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller, the original creators of Yoga Works in California. I also became more interested in the practice of Iyengar Yoga and I attended regular classes in Ireland and other locations in Europe. I refined my skills to deliver Vinyasa flow classes that are rich with self inquiry and with strong body alignment principles.

Over the years I have been pursuing my two passions – yoga and travelling, often combining the two. I have been attending yoga events and workshops with renowned teachers in India – where I return regularly to attend a special retreat with my beloved teacher Clive Sheridan – and in UK and Europe. Some of my experiences in India include a month yoga intensive with Yogacharya V. Venkatesha in Mysore, traditional Iyengar workshops with Sharath Arora in Goa, classical Hatha Yoga in Rishikesh, Satsang and meditation in the Advaita Vedanta tradition in Tiruvannamalai. In London I trained with Sarah Powers and I enjoy the deep transformative effect of Yin Yoga: stilling the body to powerfully stimulate the physical and energetic body. I hold a Pregnancy Yoga teacher certificate upon attending a detailed course with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, a highly accomplished yoginis who inspires many all over the world with her books on yoga for women. I teach regular Pregnancy Yoga sessions and also special Yoga for Labor and Birth for couples.

I also have recently attended an intensive with Donna Farhi, after reading most of her books and admiring her insights on yoga. I enjoyed her clarity and integrated some of her principles in my own practice and teaching.

Very early in my yoga journey I became interested in the transformative aspects of Pranayama and Meditation. My passion for my own yoga journey allows me to integrate my experiences in my own practice before sharing it with my students. I firmly believe in self practice – mine includes daily meditation, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Asana (yoga postures).

I am an established teacher with the Ekhart Yoga Team where I deliver full online classes. Check their website for excellent quality yoga online videos: EkhartYoga.com
